     Northwest Airlines (Nasdaq:   NWAC) today announced Midway Airlines will
 become a new partner in the Northwest WorldPerks frequent flyer program.
 Passengers can begin accruing WorldPerks miles on Midway flights effective
 May 1, 2001 and they may redeem miles beginning June 1, 2001.
     "Northwest is pleased to welcome Midway Airlines to its growing list of
 WorldPerks partners," said Beth Shultis, Northwest Airlines vice president,
 marketing programs and worldwide advertising.  "In addition to providing
 Midway customers with Northwest's highly competitive frequent flyer program,
 current WorldPerks members will enjoy accrual, award redemption and Elite
 benefits on all Midway flights."
     Effective May 1, 2001, Midway will also participate in Continental
 Airlines' OnePass(R) program.  Midway customers can choose to have their miles
 accrue in either their WorldPerks account or their OnePass account.  Flight
 miles earned on all Midway flights will count toward Elite status in either
 program.  In addition, WorldPerks and OnePass Elite members will enjoy a wide
 range of Elite benefits when traveling on Midway, including unlimited
 space-available upgrades, mileage bonuses, priority check-in and priority
 boarding privileges.
     The frequent flyer partnership between Northwest, Continental and Midway
 allows WorldPerks and OnePass program members the ability to accrue and redeem
 miles across all three carriers.  Travelers will be able to enjoy award travel
 worldwide on Continental, Northwest, Midway or any of their other airline
 partners.  Other program benefits include the opportunity to earn mileage
 through hotels, car rentals, credit card partners and special promotional
 offers.
