NouvEON Wins PRSA Silver Anvil Award
Duke Energy Project Gains National Recognition for Excellence and Innovation
CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- NouvEON received the prestigious Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The Silver Anvil recognizes outstanding achievement in strategic public relations planning and implementation.
NouvEON was selected from more than 800 entries nationwide to receive the Silver Anvil Award for its campaign, Achieving Fatigue Rule Compliance Right On Time, in the internal communications category. The campaign contributed to the successful implementation of new work hour rules for nuclear workers at Duke Energy.
"As usual, finalists in this year's Silver Anvil Awards are among the very top programs in our industry," said James J. Roop, APR, Fellow PRSA, 2010 Awards and Honors Committee chair and president of Roof & Co., Cleveland, Ohio. "The Silver Anvils continue to recognize the best practices in our field."
NouvEON's senior managing consultant and project communications lead, Betsy Alley, submitted the communications program because the comprehensive change management strategy executed by the Duke Energy nuclear generation fatigue rule team (led by Brian Connor, consisting of Lorri Action, Michelle Lawrence, Steve Morgan, Rick Nicolini, Linda Watkins and Marie White) provided the research and foundation for a solid internal communications campaign. The team worked together to implement the campaign, which raised worker awareness and understanding of the work hour rules and helped increase user acceptance of a tool to track rule compliance.
The Silver Anvil Awards has grown in scope and stature since its inception in 1946, and awards are now given in 59 categories and subcategories. Entries are evaluated for their strategic nature of public relations programs using four key components – research, planning, execution and evaluation. As a Silver Anvil winner, NouvEON's campaign became a case study in PRSA's best practices library.
This national award is yet another symbol of NouvEON's successful track record of delivering results to its clients and its expertise in organizational change management and strategic communications.
