NQL Technology Used for Creation of RumorBot

Software Bot Determines a Rumor's Popularity

Through NQL Solution Group's Use of NQL Core Technology

Apr 16, 2001, 01:00 ET from NQL Inc.

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- NQL Inc. (Nasdaq: NQLI) has
announced its role in developing a noted software bot for Switzerland-based
online marketing agency Agence Virtuelle. NQL's Solutions Group developed the
application after Agence Virtuelle approached NQL with a need for a customized
software robot that could determine the popularity of a rumor with
mathematical certainty by scouring the Web. RumorBot was highlighted on
MSNBC.com's technology section in February 2001.
An undisclosed client of Agence Virtuelle will use RumorBot to determine
the number of times a term or "rumor" occurs on particular web sites. NQL's
Solutions Group created RumorBot to simplify a process that previously
required many hours of manual labor, using 44 software "agents" to
automatically comb the Web and databases at requested intervals searching for
 key words.
"RumorBot would not have been possible without NQL," said Stephane Perino,
chief executive officer of Agence Virtuelle. "NQL's superior technology and
speed of execution enabled us to get the right product in our customer's hands
much faster than we thought possible. I believe that RumorBot and solutions
like it will play an important role in the increasingly vital effort to gain
 immediate access to strategic information."
"We provide the software for customers to build their own applications and
the expertise to customize those applications through our Solutions Group,
meeting our customers' many unique needs," said Denny Michael, NQL vice
president of marketing. "As the trend toward outsourcing custom solutions
grows, we expect our professional services will be an increasingly important
 piece of the NQL offering."
The NQL Solutions Group specializes in the creation of customized process
automation solutions by using NQL technology to address the needs of companies
with data access and delivery challenges. In addition to professional
services, NQL offers a patent-pending core technology and an enterprise-wide
content integration platform to provide a comprehensive, three-pronged
 approach to content engineering.
