    CLEVELAND, April 20 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- OfficeMax,
 Inc. (NYSE:   OMX) today announced, as part of its fiscal 2000 annual proxy
 mailing to shareholders, it has included an interactive CD-ROM containing the
 OfficeMax 2000 Annual Review. In addition, the Company said a link to a Web
 version of the CD-ROM is available at www.OfficeMax.com . OfficeMax also
 announced it has launched a new investor relations Web site in the "corporate
 information" section of OfficeMax.com.
     OfficeMax said both the CD-ROM and Web versions of the Annual Review
 feature an "easy-to-navigate" design that provides instant access to
 information, including a letter from Michael Feuer, the Company's chairman and
 chief executive officer, editorial sections on the Company's strategies,
 fiscal 2000 financial statements and even an interactive map to the Company's
 Annual Shareholders' Meeting location. The CD-ROM and site also give viewers
 the opportunity to see and hear integrated samples of the Company's radio and
 television advertising.
