Option Care President and Chief Operating Officer, Raj Rai, Promoted to Chief Executive Officer

Apr 30, 2001, 01:00 ET from Option Care

BANNOCKBURN, Ill., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Option Care (Nasdaq: OPTN)
today announced that Raj Rai has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of
the Company and will become a member of the Board of Directors.
For the past two years, Mr. Rai served as Chief Operating Officer and in
2000 earned the additional title of President. He succeeds Dr. John Kapoor as
Chief Executive Officer, who will remain in his position as Chairman of the
 Board.
Mr. Rai pioneered the Company's effort in creating Option Med, a
subsidiary focused on the distribution of high cost injectable therapies to
chronically ill patients, that today has revenues of $40 million. Under his
leadership, he has successfully negotiated, acquired and integrated the
purchase of several Option Care's franchisees in key strategic markets and
local infusion pharmacy companies; and has leveraged the Company's managed
care relationships. Mr. Rai has also been responsible for the operations
turnaround that has contributed significantly to Option Care's eight
consistent quarters of revenues and earnings growth and is expected to drive
the Company's projected earnings increases in 2001 and beyond.
Dr. Kapoor, Chairman of the Board stated, "I am very pleased to be able to
promote Raj, a dynamic leader with excellent managerial abilities. Raj has
assembled an excellent management team to take Option Care to the next level.
His proven business track record combined with outstanding entrepreneurial
business skills have produced attractive results for the Company, its
 shareholders and employees."
Mr. Rai commented, "This is an exciting time for Option Care and I am
delighted to have been appointed Chief Executive Officer. There are several
exciting opportunities for ongoing growth in our core infusion services and
specialty pharmacy distribution business segments. I am confident in my
ability to continue to improve our profitability and broaden our coverage into
new geographic markets and extend our reach to additional managed covered
 lives."
Mr. Rai has been with the Company since 1992 in increasingly senior
executive positions beginning in finance and progressing to operations
 management.
Option Care, Inc. is an alternate site and high-tech pharmaceutical
service provider, operating through a nationwide network of approximately 130
locations. The company has contracts to provide managed care organizations
and other third-party payers with pharmaceutical and high-cost injectable
products that can be used by patients in settings other than their doctors'
offices. One of the company's business units, OptionMed(TM), markets
specialty drugs and pharmacy consulting services directly to managed care
organizations for the benefit of their physicians and patients. Another
wholly owned subsidiary, Management by Information (MBI), supplies state-of-
the-art data management products and services to the home health industry.
Founded in 1979, Option Care trades on Nasdaq under the symbol OPTN.
