Pacific Exchange Breaks Volume Record

    SAN FRANCISCO, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pacific Exchange (PCX) set a
 new volume record today, trading 960,540 options contracts and breaking the
 previous record of 887,767 contracts set on January 19, 2001.
     "Our systems performed beautifully today," said PCX Chairman and CEO
 Philip D. DeFeo. "It's clear that the significant investments we've made in
 the past year for additional capacity and enhanced processing speed were
 appropriate and worthwhile."
     The PCX is the third largest equity options market in the world, and
 currently lists options on nearly 1,100 stocks.
