Pan-American Life Insurance Group Announces Scott Reitan as New Senior Vice President of Administration and Information Technology

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG), a leading provider of life and health insurance in Latin America and the U.S., announced the hire of Scott Reitan as Senior Vice President of Administration and Information Technology.  

Mr. Reitan will be overseeing all of Pan-American Life's corporate administration and information technology including the development of business solutions, strategy initiatives and tactical planning.  Additionally, he will head the CIO Council and Operations Council.

For the last 18 months, Mr. Reitan has been engaged with Pan-American Life as a consultant guiding the company through a series of strategic initiatives, including the initial transition efforts to the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance model.

Mr. Reitan's career began as an auditor with Ernst & Whinney, transitioning in the late 1980's to a leadership role with First Bank System. In the mid 1990's he established an independent consulting practice focused on profitability measurement, business intelligence and acquisition integration.  In the late 1990's Scott joined Treasury Services Corporation and subsequently Oracle Corporation as Vice President of Financial Services Strategy.  Most recently, Scott founded and served as Partner and President of Parkfield Group, a consulting firm focused on financial management, process improvement, corporate governance, SOX compliance, enterprise risk management and business continuity planning.  

Mr. Reitan earned a B.S.B. in Accounting from the University of Minnesota and is a CPA.  In his new post with Pan-American Life, Mr. Reitan will be relocating to New Orleans.
