Pathfire Announces New Content for Digital Media Gateway

INNX to Draw National Ad Dollars to Local News Via News Features

Sent Over Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway

Apr 19, 2001, 01:00 ET from Pathfire

ATLANTA, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Pathfire (formerly Video Networks Inc.),
a leading business-to-business provider of digital media content distribution
and management services, today announced an agreement with INNX, a producer of
network-quality independent news content with unique advertising targeting
methods, to deliver INNX's independent news programming to broadcast stations
through Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway application platform.
The Digital Media Gateway from Pathfire allows broadcasters to manage,
access, control and interact with many different types of digital content from
the convenience of their computer desktops. The user-friendly application
interface provides access to various types of content, including news,
weather, sports, features, ads and stock footage, as well as syndicated and
other long-form material. Stations receive this content, including INNX's
feature stories, in a digital format, enabling producers to access the
material quickly and easily from their desktops.
INNX provides network-quality news content to local TV broadcasters,
packaged with unique targeted advertising methods that draw more national
advertisers' dollars to local TV stations. Local news represents the largest
single audience block in North America. Each feature segment delivered by
INNX contains high-quality thematic "News You Can Use" with recognized
national correspondents, who become exclusive to only one TV station in each
market. Because Pathfire's system is an IP-addressable network with built-in
security, INNX will be able to send market-exclusive stories over satellite
directly to individual stations without having to worry that unauthorized
stations will have access to this content.
INNX content is currently available to more than 200 television stations.
The INNX targeted advertising model has been described by Yankee Group as
"taking a bold step" in news media.
"INNX is known in the industry for its quality, independent news
programming," said John Wilson, general manager, broadcast, for Pathfire. "By
teaming up with leading content providers, we hope to add to the value of our
Digital Media Gateway as a source for broadcast-quality content of many types
 from different sources."
"This agreement speaks to the bottom lines of TV stations," said Jak
Severson, CEO for INNX. "Through Pathfire, INNX will be able to deliver
superior quality content that viewers crave while helping the TV stations earn
premium prices from national advertisers for their adjacent commercial time."

     About INNX (www.innx.com )
INNX, a broadcast news media company, has created revolutionary television
targeted advertising methods that will increase ad value and draw more
national advertising dollars to local news broadcasters. It combines the
reach and accessibility of television with the speed, flexibility and
versatility of the Internet to link advertisers directly with people
interested in their products. The INNX platform creates a win-win-win
situation by giving local broadcast news desks high quality news stories that
attract viewers, retains those viewers by providing them access to follow-up
information, and links advertisers to those viewers with strategically
targeted commercial advertisements that relate to the news genre. INNX
stories are produced by highly regarded, network-experienced broadcast
journalists. After production, the stories are matched to advertisers. INNX
cross-medium services are made possible by its proprietary SMS and INNboxX
 technology.
