PCA Statement on Passage of Table Game Legislation

Jan 07, 2010, 14:33 ET from Pennsylvania Casino Association

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Table game legislation has historically presented some of the greatest challenges confronting state legislatures across the country. Pennsylvania is not unique -- the hard-fought debate in Harrisburg these past few months, in many ways, mirrors those fought in other states.

As with any legislation crafted through hard compromise, no stakeholder walks away thinking that the bill is not without its flaws. But these flaws pale in comparison to the important benefits which this legislation provides every citizen of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The casino industry looks forward to expanding our partnership with the state to provide greater property tax relief and promote broader economic development at the local level. We understand our role in making this legislation work for the citizens of the Commonwealth, and we intend to meet this responsibility in the months and years to come.

A bet on Pennsylvania's casinos is a bet on Pennsylvania's future.
