Philips Medical Systems Appoints New CEO to ADAC

 division of Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE:   PHG, AEX: PHI), today announced
 the appointment of Gary Burbach as chief executive officer of ADAC
 Laboratories.
     ADAC is a worldwide market leader in nuclear medicine imaging equipment
 and radiation therapy planning systems, and an emerging leader in the positron
 emission tomography (PET) imaging market.  The company was acquired by Philips
 Medical Systems in December 2000 to extend the comprehensive range of systems
 Philips offers healthcare providers to diagnose and treat diseases such as
 cardiovascular disease and cancer.
     Gary Burbach, who was already ADAC's president and chief operating
 officer, joined the company in 1996 and since then has developed a strong
 track record of success.
     In his new role as CEO, Mr Burbach will be responsible for all ADAC's
 global operations and will report into Tim Mickelson, executive vice president
 of Philips Medical Systems and CEO of ATL Ultrasound.
     Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Burbach, 39, said: "My main focus
 will be to build upon ADAC's tradition of technological innovation and world-
 class quality and customer satisfaction across our core businesses in Nuclear
 Medicine, PET and Radiation Therapy.
