Philips Semiconductors Appoints Mario Rivas As Executive Vice President Operations

    EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Philips
 Semiconductors, a division of Royal Philips Electronics
 (NYSE:   PHG; Amsterdam: PHI), has announced the appointment of Mr. Mario Rivas
 as Executive Vice President Operations.  Mario will be a member of the
 Executive Board of Philips Semiconductors and will be responsible for the
 fulfillment supply chain -- Foundries, Assembly & Test operations, Supply
 Chain management and Information Technology.

 Engineering and Masters degrees in EE Semiconductor Physics and Business
 Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
