Physiotherapy Corporation receives NCQA Certification

Aug 06, 2015, 12:10 ET from Physiotherapy Corporation

EXTON, Pa., Aug. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Physiotherapy Corporation announced today that it has received certification under the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) Credentials Verification Organization Certification Program in nine credentials elements. NCQA is widely recognized as a reliable indicator that an organization is well-managed and delivers high quality care and service. Receiving certification requires a rigorous, comprehensive review and an annual report on performance.

Credentialing is the process of reviewing a health professional's credentials which may include training, experience, practice history and medical certification or license to determine if clinical privileges to practice may be granted.  Credentialing review also includes the monthly monitoring of all active therapists' licenses with their state licensing boards as well as the monthly monitoring of Medicare sanctions through the Office of Inspector General (OIG), System for Award Management (SAMS) and Excluded Parties List System (EPLS).  Receiving certification from NCQA as a Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO) affords Physiotherapy Corporation many opportunities to increase the speed with which payors can include clinics and clinicians as participating providers.  There are only 68 organizations nationwide (including health plans, medical schools, etc), which have attained CVO Certification from NCQA.

Physiotherapy Corporation is one of the nation's largest families of physical and occupational therapy, orthotic and prosthetic providers dedicated to helping patients of all ages live better, work smarter and play harder. In understanding that people want to move at the speed of their own lives, Physio personalizes patient care across each of its comprehensive programs to help patients achieve their goals and reach their full potential.  Physio is committed to bringing the freedom of motion to its patients, delivering hands-on care to meet that goal.
