Pioneer-Standard Names Edward J. Gaio as Vice President and Controller

    CLEVELAND, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Pioneer-Standard Electronics, Inc.
 (Nasdaq:   PIOS) today announced that Edward J. Gaio has been promoted to Vice
 President and Controller.
     Mr. Gaio, who reports to Steven M. Billick, Senior Vice President and
 Chief Financial Officer, will be responsible for the company's financial
 reporting, accounts payable, payroll and related areas.

     Mr. Gaio joined Pioneer-Standard in 1998 as Director of Finance and
 Planning for the company's Industrial Electronics Division, and was promoted
 to Corporate Controller in January 2000. Prior to joining Pioneer-Standard,
 Mr. Gaio worked for Avery Dennison Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of
 self-adhesive materials and office products in Concord, Ohio, for 21 years. He
 held a variety of financial management positions with progressive
 responsibilities there, culminating as Director of Distribution and Logistics
 for the Fasson Roll Division.
     Mr. Gaio earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of
 Steubenville and his MBA in Management from Cleveland State University.
