 Inc. (NYSE:   PNC) today reaffirmed that its 2001 Annual Meeting of Shareholders
 will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. (eastern time) at PNC
 Firstside Center, 500 First Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA.
     James E. Rohr, president and chief executive officer, and Walter E. Gregg,
 Jr., vice chairman, of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. are scheduled to
 speak.  The PNC executives will discuss financial and business performance and
