Prominent Researcher and Air Force QDR Director Join AFA's Air Warfare Symposium Agenda

ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Force Association announces two top-notch speakers join the agenda for the 2013 Air Warfare Symposium, themed "Airmen, Mission, and Innovation."

AEI Director of Japan Studies Michael Auslin and the Air Force's QDR Director Major General Steven Kwast will lead sessions at this annual symposium that addresses the aerospace community about the current capabilities and challenges effecting U.S. aerial warfare worldwide. They join an exceptional line-up that includes the Secretary of the Air Force, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. The full agenda can be found here.

This year's Conference will be held February 20-22, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida. It promises to bring together Air Force leadership, industry experts, academia and current aerospace specialists from around the world. 

Auslin is the director of Japan Studies at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a think-tank in Washington, DC. He was formerly an associate professor of history and senior research fellow at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University prior to joining AEI. A frequent commentator in U.S. and foreign media, Auslin is also a columnist for the Wall Street Journal. 

Kwast is the Director of Requirements, Headquarters Air Combat Command at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He is responsible for all functions relating to the Combat Air Forces weapons systems acquisition, modernization, sustainment, and test of over 100 programs while directing a staff of ten divisions, four operating locations, one Field Operating Agency, and five Air Force Core Function Teams. In November 2012, he was selected to serve as director for the next Air Force Quadrennial Defense Review.
