    ST. LOUIS, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Pulitzer Inc. (NYSE:   PTZ) today said
 it will announce its earnings for the first quarter of 2001 on Thursday,
 April 19, 2001, at approximately 8:00 a.m. EDT.  At 10:00 a.m. EDT the same
 day, Pulitzer will conduct a conference call with stock analysts to discuss
 its earnings.
     The conference call will be open to investors and reporters, on a
 listen-only basis, via a live Web cast.  To listen to the Web cast, go to
 www.vcall.com, and click on Pulitzer Inc.  The Web cast will be available on
 that Web site until Saturday, May 19, 2001.
     Pulitzer Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Robert C. Woodworth
 will conduct the call, which is scheduled to last one hour.  Joining Mr.
