QCL Group, Inc. Announces Acquisition of Muli-Million Dollar Facility

Apr 23, 2001, 01:00 ET from QCL Group, Inc.

    ATHENS, Ga., April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
QCL Group (OTC: QCLG) announced today through its operating subsidiary,
Retail Convenience Stores Inc. (RCS), it has acquired a full-service 24-hour
travel center outside of Atlanta, Georgia. The company states that the center
is a brand new state-of-art facility with 150,000 gallons of diesel fuel
volume and 80,000 gallons of gasoline volume per month. RCS states that this
can be duplicated with similar centers that are targeted in Georgia to be
purchased by year-end. Fuel price is one primary attraction to truckers
hauling freight. QCL Group also has two additional operating subsidiaries,
Independent Southern, Inc., a petroleum marketer, and Petroleum Products
Southern Inc., an energy transport division which enables its convenience
store and travel center divisions to offer very competitive retail fuel prices
to the thousands of potential customers traveling the major US Highways on the
 Southern East Coast.
Pete Iodice, President and CEO of QCL Group, states, "The travel center
business is the most lucrative sector in the retail petroleum industry." "I
expect the addition of this new facility, operating 7 days a week 24 hours per
day, can increase our gallon volume of diesel to 300,000 per month and
gasoline to 150,000 gallons per month," stated Iodice. This should generate
average sales volume of approximately $600,000 per month plus another $60,000
per month from inside convenience store sales.
Most of the nation's independent drivers are attracted to low fuel prices,
ease of access, safety, cleanliness, and good food. QCL Group's new facility
provides all this and more. QCL Group will continue to operate its
convenience stores and fuel hauling divisions separate from the new and future
company operated travel centers, which will trade under the names Fuel Town
 and Diesel Town.
QCL Group has filed its form 10SB and is currently responding to comments
to the SEC to complete its uplisting to OTC Bulletin Board over the next 30 to
 45 days.
QGL Group, founded in 1987 is headquartered in Athens, Georgia and
operates three divisions, Retail Convenience Stores, Inc., Independent
Southern, Inc., and Petroleum Products Southern Inc., which distributes,
markets, and sells, fuel and other items through its fleet of trucks,
convenience stores and recently purchased travel center. The company has
phased out all its subsidiaries that are non-energy related and is strongly
focused on building its fuel distribution and energy related businesses. The
company reported non-audited approximate gross revenues for fiscal year end
2000 of $2.75 million with approximate net earnings of $192,500. The company
is projecting for fiscal year end 2001 approximate gross revenues of
$6.5 million and approximate net earnings of $595,000.
Certain statements contained in this release are forward looking.
Although QCL Group, Inc. believes that its expectations are based on
reasonable assumptions within the bounds of its knowledge of its business and
operations; there can be no assurance that actual results will not differ
materially from its expectations. Factors that could cause actual results to
differ from expectations include general economic, business and market
conditions, volatility of gasoline prices, merchandise margins, customer
traffic, weather conditions, labor costs and the level of capital
 expenditures.
