QLogic And INRANGE Expand Partnership

 Corporation (Nasdaq:   QLGC), the leading Storage Area Network (SAN)
 infrastructure provider, and INRANGE Technologies (Nasdaq:   INRG), a leader in
 scalable storage solutions, today announced a new, long-term agreement that
 bolsters the companies' capabilities to deliver the industry's highest-
 performance, end-to-end storage networking solutions, and provides enhanced
 service and support levels to customers and partners.
     The agreement expands a successful business relationship that leverages
 QLogic's expertise in Fibre Channel component design with INRANGE's expertise
 in software and large-scale switching technology, and global infrastructure,
 to develop the world's most scalable SAN solutions. The first product from
 this partnership has been the IN-VSN(TM) FC/9000(TM) Fibre Channel Director,
 the most scalable high-availability technology for building enterprise SANs.
 QLogic, recognized for the breadth of its SAN infrastructure components ? from
 host bus adapters (HBAs), to controller/management chips, to workgroup and
 departmental switches has recently demonstrated end-to-end 2 Gb Fibre Channel
 technology components, which the companies have agreed to integrate into the
 FC/9000 product family.
 
     From the Edge to the Core, Across the Wide Area Network
     As a result of the new, expanded agreement, INRANGE will also serve as an
 OEM for QLogic 8, 16, and 32 port "edge" switches, including the upcoming
 QLogic SANbox2 line of 2 Gb-based products, and will market QLogic HBAs as an
 integral part of their SAN solutions.  These QLogic products, combined with
 INRANGE's director, optical networking and channel extension technologies,
 provide customers with the most complete solution available for building high-
 availability SANs from the network edge to the core, and for extending network
 traffic to any location, over metro and wide area networks.  In addition,
 INRANGE has selected the QLogic 2 Gb Fibre Channel components, including the
 16 port switch-on-a-chip ASIC, as building blocks for the FC/9000 2 Gb
 implementation, expected to be available at the end of 2001.
     This ASIC, combined with INRANGE controller, switching, RAS, and GUI
 technologies, will comprise the 256-port FC/9000, also scheduled for delivery
 in late 2001.
     The companies are also aligning their respective strengths in distribution
 and service. Leveraging a global infrastructure of more than 450 direct sales
 and service professionals, systems engineers, and high-level systems
 architects, INRANGE will become the preferred end-user service organization
 for QLogic worldwide.  QLogic and INRANGE will cooperate to develop the SAN
 distribution channels.  With substantial direct sales and sales to business
 partners like IBM and Hitachi Data Systems, INRANGE will provide channel
 fulfillment of high-end directors, channel extension, and optical networking
