WASHINGTON, Aug. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rally Health, Inc. and actor and comedian Kevin Hart will visit Children's National Health System today to show children that making healthy choices can be fun and easy. The event will be filled with interactive activities, including arts and crafts, dance classes and demonstrations. Rally HealthSM and Hart will also announce that they will fund the hospital's mobile medical and dental program through the end of this year.
"Adopting healthy habits can be tough, especially when we are asking people to change their routines to exercise more and eat better. We want to teach kids healthy behaviors in a fun and interactive way, and hope they will continue these habits throughout their lives," said Grant Verstandig, Rally Health's founder and chief executive officer. "Children's National is renowned for its excellence and innovation in pediatric care. We are thrilled to be a part of and support its mission of bettering the overall health of this community, especially since we started our company in Washington, D.C."
Approximately 30 percent of Washington, D.C.'s children live in poverty. The funding for the mobile medical and dental health program will ensure that more children, including those in disadvantaged neighborhoods, will have access to health care.
"I want to thank Rally Health and Kevin Hart for their generosity and enthusiasm for the Children's National mobile medical and dental program," said Kurt Newman, MD, President and CEO of Children's National Health System. "Rally Health and Kevin share Children's commitment and vision to improving children's health in our community and promoting healthy living."
"Living right, laughing and treating your body well are extremely important. I want kids to know that taking care of themselves can be fun," said Hart. "Together with Rally Health, we want to motivate them to get out there, get moving and develop habits that will help them grow and succeed in the long run."
Earlier this year, Rally Health announced Hart as its first Health Ambassador. As part of this partnership and Hart's ongoing commitment to health and wellbeing, Hart is encouraging his fans to move more, eat better and take better care of themselves.
