Raytheon Names Rebecca Rhoads Vice President and Chief Information Officer

    LEXINGTON, Mass., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company
 (NYSE:   RTNA, RTNB) today announced that Rebecca Rhoads, 44, has been appointed
 vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of the company, effective
 immediately.
     Rhoads most recently served as vice president of information technology
 for Raytheon's Electronic Systems (ES) business, headquartered in El Segundo,
 Calif.  In that role, she was responsible for all aspects of information
 technology in support of ES business requirements, including development,
 direction, and implementation of business-wide information systems.
 Previously, she was vice president of information technology for Raytheon's
 Defense Systems segment.
     Prior to the merger of Raytheon and Hughes operations in 1997, Rhoads
 worked for General Dynamics and Hughes Aircraft Company.  With more than 22
 years of experience in the defense industry, she has managed engineering
 organizations in test systems design, systems reliability, safety and product
 effectiveness engineering, and manufacturing engineering.
     Rhoads holds a bachelor's in electrical engineering from California
 Polytechnic University and a master's in electrical engineering from
 California Polytechnic State University.  She also received an MBA in the
 Executive Management program from the University of California at Los Angeles
 Anderson Graduate School of Business Management.
