Reader's Digest Names Andrew Bein Vice President/General Manager of New Media

 Association, Inc. today announced the appointment of Andrew Bein, as vice
 president/general manager of New Media.  Bein is responsible for
 readersdigest.com, the company's flagship Web site, as well as nearly
 40 others run by the company to promote its businesses and alliances.  Bein
 reports to Eric Schrier, global editor-in-chief and senior vice president of
 The Reader's Digest Association, Inc.

     Bein was most recently vice president, corporate development at iWon.com,
 where he led the fifth most visited site on the Web in a variety of new
 business activities.  He developed strategy and implemented new initiatives
 encompassing member acquisition, subscription revenue generation, database
 marketing and new content partnerships with such diverse companies as
 Travelocity, Healthscout, Brodia, Ourhouse/Ace Hardware, and Navipth/CMGI.
 His areas of particular focus included wireless distribution, membership fee
 services and broadband content.
     In his prior position as General Manager of Sixdegrees, Inc., a
 membership-based Internet company, Bein directed all sales, business
 development, technology and operations, including building the internal
 systems of the company.  He also guided the company through its $125 million
 acquisition by Youthstream Media Networks.
     As Vice President, Cendant Corporation, Bein was responsible for
 generating $10 million in new business annually.  His achievements included
 the development of new products and distribution, and the tailoring of
 existing products for new marketing partners.
     He brings direct marketing and publishing experience from senior
 management positions held at MBI as Program Manager of The Danbury Mint and
 The Easton Press.
     Bein is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a
 B.S. from the School of Architecture and Planning.  His MBA is from Stanford
 University.
