Advisory Board, announced Board Chairman Con Hitchcock yesterday at eTravel
World, the leading industry showcase for online travel. New members include
one of the Senate's former leading consumer advocates, U.S. Sen. Richard Bryan
(D-NV), consumer travel correspondent, Valarie D'Elia, Internet pioneer,

Hitchcock also announced a nationwide search for an everyday consumer and

complete the survey and answer in 300 words or less, "Why are you a perfect
fit for the Orbitz Consumer Advisory Board?" Consumers are also encouraged to
nominate friends or colleagues who they believe would benefit the Board.
Nominations will be accepted from April 5 through April 20, 2001.
"The Consumer Advisory Board will be a great asset to Orbitz," said
Jeff Katz, Chairman, President and CEO of Orbitz. "The Board will serve as
our touchstone with the marketplace and consumers. Research has proven that

and needs. Orbitz is proud to be the first online travel site with a consumer
advisory board that is comprised of recognized experts who are tasked with
offering objective feedback, proactive thinking and travel insights related to
 new trends."
"I am thrilled that these recognized experts in travel, technology and
consumer advocacy are joining me on the first industry Board designed to
provide objective thinking and outside advice for the benefit of consumers,"
said Con Hitchcock, who was announced as Board Chairman in June 2000. "Not
only will the Board be comprised of noted experts, but it will also benefit
from the input of an everyday consumer who has personally experienced the
frustrations that currently come with online travel. The Board is a pipeline
to real people and represents Orbitz' commitment to consumers."

The new members of the Orbitz Consumer Advisory Board include:

The Honorable Richard Bryan: Bryan represented the State of Nevada in the
United States Senate from 1989 until his retirement in 2001. He also served
as Nevada's Governor and Attorney General. The Senator was recognized as one
of the Senate's leading consumer advocates and was known for being an
 energetic advocate for his constituents.

Travel Correspondent Valarie D'Elia: D'Elia is a recognized travel writer
with a deep understanding of consumers' travel mindset. Valarie currently
hosts her own travel segment, "Travel with Val," on New York 1 News and can be

with what consumers want and how technology can provide relevant solutions.
Additionally, Board members will participate in monthly email and chat room
discussions with consumers to solicit ongoing feedback and report back
directly to Orbitz' senior management team.
Research indicates that consumers who book online search three, four, even
five websites because they are not confident that they are receiving all the
available information. Reasons vary from comfort level and lack of
familiarity to privacy and security. Board members will reach out to
consumers to discover those key issues and work with Orbitz to develop
 solutions.
Orbitz, a new travel site backed by the world's leading airlines, will
launch this summer. Orbitz will be the first site offering consumers an
