Aug 22, 2001, 01:00 ET from REDSonic, Inc.

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- REDSonic, Inc., a leader in
real-time Linux solutions for the embedded market, today announced it will be
exhibiting five new product demonstrations at the upcoming LinuxWorld
Conference and Expo at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco from
 August 28-30, 2001.
The five new demonstrations are REDSonic's newest products and its latest
solution created with strategic partner, Clarity Visual. The following is a
 list of the new demonstrations:

-- Secure SOHO - REDSonic's new gateway and firewall software, designed
to protect individual systems and small business networks that connect to
the Internet via a single connection
     -- Windows-Based Terminal (WBT) - Provides thin-client Linux-based access
to Windows applications and services and lowers total cost of management
and ownership; ideal for application service providers (ASPs),
     telecommuting, remote login and administration
-- LinuxBIOS - ROM-based Linux kernel that replaces legacy BIOS code for
secure, fast boot, and rapid power-on solutions; ideal for thin-clients
     and terminal workstations
-- REDSonic PowerPC (MPC 823) Starter Kit - Demonstrates CPU resource
allocation with rate monotonic scheduling in the REDICE-Linux(TM) SDK on
the new low cost PowerPC 823 starter kit
     -- REDSonic/Clarity Visual solution - SignSite(TM) is a digital signage
solution powered by REDSonic technology. Clarity Visual Systems displays
are installed in airports, retail centers, arena and conference
facilities, and command and control facilities

These new demonstrations reflect an extension of REDSonic's product
offerings. At the outset, the company focused on providing technology and
tools. Recently, REDSonic has expanded this focus and is now providing more
tangible embedded solutions. "Now that we have accomplished our initial goal
of providing strong real-time Linux technology along with functional tools to
the marketplace, we're taking it one step further," stated Andrew Chen, CTO at
REDSonic. "We've made large strides in developing new applications and we're
very excited to showcase these solutions in LinuxWorld where many Linux
 industry leaders will be present."
REDSonic will also demonstrate new features for RED-Builder, the company's
easy-to-use graphical tool that enables developers to customize, configure,
and build embedded systems. "The platform editor, one of the new RED-Builder
features, gives developers the ability to build their own applications on any
board, making RED-Builder one of the most user-friendly embedded Linux tools
on the market today," commented Chen.
