RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Reichhold announced its sponsorship of Earth Day 2001, which includes support for the Durham Earth Day Festival on April 28. The company is also sponsoring a 5K run on April 22 in Bridgeville, Penn., and an Earth Day booth in Jacksonville, Fl. Reichhold has plants in Bridgeville and Jacksonville and its world headquarters in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Earth Day, recognized internationally on April 22, was created to celebrate the Earth's natural surroundings and fight for a cleaner environment. The Durham Earth Day Festival and the Neville Island Good Chemistry Earth Day are just two events going on across the world next week. "We have 15 employees at our site who are participating in the Neville Island 5K run/walk," said Bruce McCall, a health and safety specialist with Reichhold and event participant. "Proceeds from the event will be used to preserve and beautify the green areas of Neville Island." In Bridgeville, the 5K run is sponsored by the American Chemistry Council in coordination with local chemical companies. The Durham Earth Day Festival is scheduled from 1 p.m.- 7 p.m. at Historic Durham Athletic Park, and admission is free. The event features music, food and raffles.
