Research and Markets: Amazon Brings Encryption Back To Tablet Devices After Complaints
DUBLIN, March 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
A recent report published on Research and Markets expects the global hardware encryption market to grow at a CAGR of 50.62 percent between 2015 and 2019. Encryption involves encoding of data into a form that is accessible to authorized users. E-commerce giant Amazon was criticised last week for removing the encryption feature on its Fire tablets, but has now backtracked and said it will restore the security option.

Amazon said it had removed the feature in its latest operating system because very few customers used it. Previous version of the fire products had on-device encryption, which scrambles data so that the device can be accessed only if the user enters the correct password. Mobile user authentication is becoming increasingly important as it drastically reduces the risk of being exposed to identity theft or phishing incidents.
According to a report on the mobile user authentication market, the need to enforce security of organizational data as well as safeguard private and confidential data of individuals has become a need of the hour. It expects the mobile user authentication market is expected to grow from $552.6 Million in 2015 to $1,682.0 Million by 2020, at a CAGR of 24.9%.
Cyber security has been a hot topic in the last few weeks due to Apple's ongoing legal battle with the U.S. government over the unlocking of an encrypted phone. Amazon this week signed on to a court brief urging a federal judge to side with Apple. The global cyber security market is set to grow at a CAGR of 12.13% during the period 2016-2020.
