RONKS, Pa., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- On behalf of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom
Ridge, Community and Economic Development Secretary Sam McCullough today
announced that The Jay Group plans to expand its operations in Ronks, Leola
and New Holland, Lancaster County, creating 130 jobs and retaining 239 jobs.
"There are some amazing businesses -- cutting-edge businesses, in fact --
that reside right in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country," Secretary
McCullough said. "And The Jay Group is one of them.
"With its hardworking team, The Jay Group provides marketing and
fulfillment services for many of the most well-known brands in the world,
including DuPont, Kodak, Rubbermaid and Xerox. Now, good news for its
esteemed clients and the Lancaster County community: This solid, high-tech
 company is growing!"
Dana Chryst, President and CEO of The Jay Group, said, "We are taking our
business to new levels, and we are doing it here in Lancaster County. We're
adding jobs at a greater rate than ever before in our company's 35-plus year
history. And we're adding these jobs in some key high-tech areas, primarily
 our call-center and information-technology functions.
"We very much appreciate the support from Gov. Ridge and his
Administration, and look forward to partnering with the Commonwealth as our
business expansion drives technological growth and job creation."
The Governor's Action Team -- economic-development professionals who
report directly to Gov. Ridge -- worked with The Jay Group to make this
 project a reality.
The Commonwealth is providing a $169,314 financial package, through an
Opportunity Grant, to support The Jay Group project. The Opportunity Grant
Program provides grants that result in the creation or retention of jobs
 within the Commonwealth.
The Jay Group provides full-service fulfillment, co-packing, call-center
and information-technology services, as well as promotional products and
 programs.
Under the Ridge Administration, Pennsylvania families and employers have
saved nearly $15 billion through tax cuts, workers' compensation reform,
electric deregulation and reduced red tape -- helping to create nearly 500,000
 new jobs.
