Rocky Shoes & Boots, Inc. Announces Additional Orders Under U.S. Government Boot Contract

    NELSONVILLE, Ohio, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Rocky Shoes & Boots, Inc.
 (Nasdaq:   RCKY), a manufacturer of premium quality rugged outdoor, occupational
 and casual footwear, today announced the Company has received additional
 orders for Intermediate Cold Wet military boots under its contract with the
 U.S. Government.
     The Company previously announced this contract award on March 9, 2001 and
 stated that second quarter 2001 shipments were expected to exceed the contract
 minimum of $1.6 million.  Since that date additional orders have been received
 for approximately $3.2 million of military boots, which are to be shipped by
 the end of third quarter 2001.  This contract is for one year with maximum
 orders of $6.6 million and an option to extend the agreement for an additional
 twelve months.  These Rocky(R) Gore-Tex(R) boots are being produced in the
 Company's factory in Puerto Rico.
