Rodale Names Amy Rhodes Vice President and Publisher of Rodale Trade Books

    NEW YORK, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Rodale Inc., the world's leading
 publisher of information on healthy, active lifestyles, announced today that
 Amy Rhodes has been named vice president and publisher of Rodale Trade Books.
 Steve Murphy, Rodale's president and chief operating officer, made the
 announcement. Rhodes, a former sales and marketing executive of Harry N.
 Abrams and Little Brown and Co., will begin her Rodale assignment on May 14
 and will report to Steve Murphy.

     In her new role, Rhodes will oversee all of Rodale's trade book sales,

 Special Sales; Jane Tappuni - Senior International Sales Manager; Leslie
 Schnieder - Marketing Director; Dana Bacher - Subsidiary Rights Manager; and
 Patsy Flexer - Office Manager.
     Prior to joining Rodale, Rhodes served as vice president, director of
 sales and marketing and member of the executive committee for Harry N. Abrams
 since 1998.  From 1991 to 1998, she held three vice president positions at
 Little Brown and Co., first as director of marketing, then as director of
 sales and marketing, and last as associate publisher, director of sales and
 marketing.
     Prior to that, Rhodes was marketing director for Random House and vice
 president, director of sales for Avon Books. In the early part of her career,
 she worked in wholesale sales for New American Library and in book
 distribution and book buying at Chas Levy Circulating Co. She earned a
 bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago in 1975.
