Saint-Gobain Corporation Names Scott Vice President of Human Resources

    VALLEY FORGE, Pa., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark J. Scott was named vice
 president of human resources for Saint-Gobain Corporation effective April 1,
 2001.  He assumed this position in addition to his role as vice president of
 human resources for CertainTeed Corporation, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain
 Corporation.  He succeeds Dennis J. Baker, who was named senior advisor to the
 CEO and continues as vice president of human resources of the parent company's
 Abrasives Division.
     Scott joined Saint-Gobain in February 1999 as vice president of human
 resources for CertainTeed.  Prior to that, he held human resource management
 positions at various companies including, most recently, Case Corporation.
 Before entering the Human Resources field, he practiced law for several years.
     He holds a B.A. degree from Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wisc.) and a
 J.D. degree from the John Marshall Law School (Chicago, Ill.).
     A resident of Radnor, Pennsylvania, Scott and his wife Kathy have three
 children.
