    SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- SandCraft, Inc. -- a
 recognized leader in the design and production of high-performance MIPS(R)
 CPUs -- today announced the appointment of Sunit Saxena, an industry veteran
 with decades of experience in operations management to the newly-created
 position of Vice President, Operations with the company.  Mr. Saxena begins
 his position at SandCraft immediately as the company continues its strong
 momentum to build a leadership position in the ultra-high-performance MIPS CPU
 marketplace.
     As announced in the third quarter of 2000, SandCraft is now a merchant
 supplier of ultra-high performance CPUs and Applications Specific Processors
 for Internet infrastructure products.  SandCraft will manufacture, market and
 distribute products catering specifically to the high-performance needs
 demanded by the embedded communications market, including routers, switches
 and line cards.  These ultra-high-performance, MIPS-compatible CPUs will be
 manufactured through a strategic relationship with Taiwan foundry supplier
 United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) and marketed under the SandCraft
 brand name.
     Sunit has extensive and wide-ranging experience in the chip industry.  He
 has worked with many different product types from EPROMS to Bit slice
 microprocessors to FDDI chipsets at AMD.  He later managed PLD's at Altera.
 For the last several years, Mr. Saxena was an Executive Officer at Alliance
 Semiconductor responsible for worldwide Operations and Product/Test
 Engineering for products ranging from SRAM/DRAMs to 3D Graphic controllers.
 He has close working relationships with fab partners in Asia, including UMC,
 and with many different assembly and test facilities in the Far East.
