Company Completes Previously Announced Acquisition of Fox 8

    LUXEMBOURG, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- SBS Broadcasting SA (Nasdaq:   SBTV;
 Euronext Amsterdam N.V.: SBS) announced today that it had completed the
 previously announced acquisition of FOX 8 in The Netherlands from News
 Corporation in exchange for 866,013 shares of SBS common stock and the
 assumption of $500,000 in liabilities.  SBS now operates three general
 entertainment channels and one radio station in the Company's largest market.
     Commenting on the acquisition, Harry Evans Sloan, Chairman and CEO of SBS,
 said: "This transaction is an important strategic step that will enable us to
 continue our growth and improve our margins in our largest market.  With three
 stations, SBS will be in a position to expand its reach and achieve additional
