 partnerships and product enhancements at the 2001 National Association of
 Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas, April 23-26.  The partnerships are with
 Visual Circuits, Alpha Video and Hewitt Rand.  In addition, Scala is
 introducing four new EX add-on modules for InfoChannel IC200. These new
 modules will allow Scala's VARs to create more customized solutions for
 customers.
 
     *  Scala and Visual Circuits Partnership
        Visual Circuits is a leading designer and manufacturer of digital video
        systems, sub-components, and software for location-based entertainment,
        retail visual merchandising, and education and training applications.
 
        The companies are forming a technical, sales and marketing partnership
        to expedite the convergence of multichannel digital video and graphics
        for the emerging digital signage market.  This will allow customers to
        combine Visual Circuits and Scala technologies for dynamic multimedia
        applications.
 
     *  Scala and Alpha Video Develop Newsjet
        Scala and Alpha Video have joined to promote and develop Alpha's
        Newsjet content service. Scala will promote Newsjet to its dealers,
        representatives and end users.  Alpha will manage the service, update
        content daily, and support customers.
 
        Newsjet is a daily news and entertainment content service designed for
        use with Scala InfoChannel Networks.  News is captured and edited from
        UPI (United Press International) three times a day, then transmitted
        automatically.  Weather and Stock News can even be customized per
        location.
 
     *  New Ex Modules
        Scala announces four new EX add-on modules to expand the capabilities
        of InfoChannel IC200.  These modules allow Scala's VARs to create more
        customized solutions for customers.
 
        Serial EX: Sends and receives serial data. Controls any RS-232 devices.
        TVinput EX: Uses ATI video input cards to display video as a full
         pagebackground, or PIP.
        Billing EX: Enhanced playback logging with easier formatting for
         advertising-based applications.
        CORIOgen EX: Controls the Vine Micros CORIOgen overlay genlock. Great
         for video applications combining text and video.
 
     *  Scala and Hewitt Rand Announce Pre-configured Systems
        Scala and Hewitt Rand have partnered to offer a series of PCs for
        InfoChannel systems. Based on Scala's hardware research for reliability
        and performance, Hewitt Rand will offer a selection of systems.
