SCE to Host Business Expo on Energy-Efficiency Rebates

                                     WHAT
     Southern California Edison and several trade associations will host a
 workshop and exhibition for local businesses to explain 2001 rebate incentives
 available when businesses upgrade to newer, more energy-efficient equipment.
     SCE urges businesses to investigate this proactive means of responding to
 California's rising electricity rates and power supply shortage.  And we urge
 media outlets to report on the importance of energy-efficiency by businesses
 during the state's energy crisis.

                            Thursday, April 5, 2001
                                4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
 
                                     WHERE
     Southern California Edison Headquarters, 2244 Walnut Grove Ave., Rosemead,
 in the central courtyard.
 
                                  PARTICIPANTS
     --  SCE representatives will explain 2001 energy-efficiency rebate
         programs.
     --  15 - 20 vendors of energy-efficiency equipment will be available to
         explain the latest electro-technologies.
     --  SCE business customers (150 or more expected).
 
                             DETAILS & OTHER FACTS
     David Ned Smith, SCE vice president of major customers, will speak briefly
 at about 5 p.m. about steps local businesses can take to minimize the adverse
 impact of price increases and possible summer power shortages.  Refreshments
 will be served and there will be drawings for prizes donated by vendors.  To
