Schneider Logistics Rolls Out Carrier Partner Program Over the Web; Purchasing Program Gives Discounts on Fuel and Tires for Schneider Logistics' Carrier Network

Apr 05, 2001, 01:00 ET from Schneider Logistics, Inc.

GREEN BAY, Wis., April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Schneider Logistics, Inc., a
leading provider of technology-based logistics services, today announced a new
Carrier Partner Program through which carriers receive point of sales savings
 on fuel and tires.
Through the program, carriers that do not normally realize the pricing
economies of large carriers receive negotiated group discounts from national
suppliers of fuel and tires. Carrier Partner Program participants utilize a
Web-based information system via the Schneider Logistics Web site,
http://www.schneiderlogistics.com , to find suppliers who offer discounts.
"We saw this as an important plus for our network of third party ground
carriers, who are vital to the work we do," said Bob Herndon, vice president
Alliance Services for Schneider Logistics. In 2000, Schneider Logistics
worked with more than 3,300 carriers to process orders totaling $819 million.
Only five percent of the orders moved on Schneider National assets, Herndon
said. "The vast majority of freight we manage on behalf of our customers
moves on our third party carriers."
Any carrier organization that works with Schneider Logistics or Schneider
National is eligible to join the program. Registration is available at
 http://www.schneiderlogistics.com or by calling 800-558-1179.
Through Schneider Logistics Carrier Partner Program, carriers save on
major cost items they purchase. For example, carriers can receive discounts
of up to 4 cents per gallon at hundreds of fueling locations nationwide. For
every 100,000 miles a fleet travels, carriers could save up to $500.
Additionally, carriers can obtain a low, consistent price on tires.
Purchasing tires also qualifies carriers to receive additional quarterly
rebates based on the freight they haul for Schneider Logistics. For every
100,000 miles a fleet travels, carriers could save up to $250. Carriers
participating in Schneider Logistics Carrier Partner Program also can
subscribe to Schneider Logistics' Breakdown Assistance service, which allows
them to conduct breakdown location searches, identifying service centers from
a database of 4000 locations throughout the U.S. or Canada.
