OTTAWA, May 25, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Securitas Transport Aviation Security Limited and the United Steelworkers Locals 5319 and 9342 on the renewal of their collective agreements.
The agreements were reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). The FMCS provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.
- Securitas Transport Aviation Security Limited is a provider to the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) delivering screening services at airports in Quebec and the Atlantic region.
- The collective agreements covering approximately 580 employees providing pre-boarding security screening services expired on March 31, 2015.
- The collective agreements cover various airports (Bathurst Airport, Charlottetown Airport, Churchill Falls Airport, Deer Lake Regional Airport, Fredericton International Airport, Goose Bay International Airport, Greater Moncton International Airport, Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International Airport, J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport, Saint John Airport, Stephenville International Airport, St. Anthony Airport, St. John's International Airport, Wabush Airport).
