Apr 03, 2001, 01:00 ET from Hello Friend Ennis William Cosby Foundation

NEW YORK, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Jerry Seinfeld and Quincy Jones are
headlining a special night to continue the legacy of a remarkable young man,
Ennis Cosby. Seinfeld will MC an evening hosted by Bill and Camille Cosby to
benefit the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation on April 24th at Pier
 60. Quincy Jones and special guests Chaka Khan and Diane Schuur will provide
the musical entertainment. The evening's honoree is Dick Parsons, Co-Chief
Operating Officer of AOL Time Warner.
     The Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation ( www.hellofriend.org )
was founded on the vision that no one with learning differences be denied the
lifelong joy and fulfillment of learning. The foundation strives to create
fundamental changes in services, attitudes, educational systems, families and
communities, in order to unlock the gifts of creative accomplishments in
 learning that benefit all.
Funds raised at the gala will make a great difference towards insuring
that New York area school children get off to the best start possible in their
education. The evening will support a graduate certificate program at Fordham
University serving local kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers. The
program, now concluding its first year, equips teachers with the tools for
effective early intervention to help young students with difficulties with
reading. The program has already achieved great results since teachers can
apply their new learning technologies immediately into the classroom.
Pier Sixty is located at the Chelsea Piers, 23rd Street at the Hudson
River. A reception and silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by
the dinner, live auction and entertainment starting at 7:30 p.m.
For ticket information, please contact Julia Harris or Linda Buckley at
 Buckley Hall Events (212) 573-6933.
