    NEW YORK and HURST, Texas, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Electronics Corp
 and Handango, the world's leading publisher of handheld and wireless software,
 today announced an alliance to provide Linux(R) and Java(TM) software to users
 of Sharp's innovative Zaurus SL-5500 series handheld.  The Handango-powered
 Software Store, available now at www.myZaurus.com under the "Software" link,
 is the first Linux handheld software store on the Web.  The two companies
 intend to work together to drive the creation of compelling Linux and Java
 software and promote those applications to Zaurus users.
     Handango provides both Linux and Java applications optimized for Sharp's
 new product, the Zaurus SL-5500.  The innovative Zaurus runs on a Linux-based
 embedded operating system and integrates a QWERTY keyboard, MP3 player,
 expansion slot and a Java virtual machine that enables users to run Java
 applications.  Users can find and purchase Java software for the Zaurus by

     Together, the two companies will leverage their combined developer
 communities, consisting of more than 28,000 ISVs, to increase the number of
