BOSTON, Aug. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Simmons College is pleased to announce the appointment of Donna Ng, a higher education financial expert, as the new Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. Her appointment is effective August 2015.
Ng will lead the development, implementation, and administration of policies, procedures, and services for finance and accounting, investments, capital structure planning, cash and debt management, information technology, public safety, and facilities. She will serve as an Officer of Simmons College.
"Donna has a proven track record of strong financial stewardship at several renowned academic institutions, including two other women's colleges. We are pleased that she will be able to use her expertise to help us sustain and strengthen our financial position," said Simmons College President Helen Drinan.
Ng comes to Simmons from Scripps College where she was Vice President for Business Affairs/Treasurer. In this position, she was responsible for administering key business services including accounting, managing the audit process, operating and capital budgeting, long-range planning, investment management, buildings and grounds, human resources, administrative technology and dining services. She also served as the lead staff liaison to Board of Trustees committees, including buildings and grounds, and finance.
Previously, Ng was Senior Associate Provost, Budget and Planning at Wellesley College, responsible for the annual and long-term strategic operating and capital budgets. She served as a committee member for campus renewal initiatives and on the President's Cabinet. She was a leader in trustee groups in charge of financial planning. Other positions have included Budget Director at Babson College and various financial positions in healthcare and at the international public accounting firm KPMG.
Ng earned a B.S. in accounting from Boston College and an MBA from Babson College.
