VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sono Resources Inc. (OTCQB: SRCI; the "Company" or "Sono") has extended its advanced high-resolution aeromagnetic survey designed to define high-priority drill targets on its copper/silver project recently purchased through the acquisition of 95% of the shares of Bonnyridge PTY ("the Bonnyridge Project") in Botswana, Africa. The Company is exploring for copper/silver mineralization in the center of the Kalahari Copper Belt.
After an initial review of the high-resolution magnetic data, target horizon extensions were identified from a detailed technical analysis of the local geology which matches the geological model of the Kalahari Copper Belt. Therefore, the decision was made to fly additional line kilometers over the Company's three license blocks. The additional high-resolution lines have been carefully selected to identify superior drill targets in the Company's planned drill program.
The Sono licenses encompass three blocks located in the center of the Kalahari Copper Belt and are widely characterized as the southwesterly extension of the Zambian/DRC Copper Belt extending through Botswana and into Namibia. The belt is home to many producing copper mines and many more recent and successful exploration activities.
