Squire, Sanders & Dempsey Expands Into Tampa

Group headed by Steve Mitchell and Joe Edwards will join the firm and focus on

real estate and public finance law

    TAMPA, Florida, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The international law firm of
 Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. announced today the opening of an office in
 Tampa.  The office will focus on serving the state's vibrant real estate
 market and significantly augment the firm's existing public finance practice.
 The new office will be located in One Tampa City Center and officially opens
 April 16, 2001.
     Partners Stephen J. Mitchell and Joseph D. Edwards lead the group that
 initially comprises the Tampa office. Both had been founding shareholders in
 the law firm of Annis, Mitchell, Cockey, Edwards & Roehn, P.A.  Mitchell is a
 co-founder of the previous firm, and was head of its real estate group.
 Edwards, former Annis Mitchell CEO, has extensive experience in municipal
 finance, federal tax issues and employee benefits planning.  Squire Sanders
 recently completed a three-year co-counsel arrangement with Annis Mitchell as
 disclosure counsel to Hillsborough County.
