Steve Bellis to Lead Air Liquide's Technology Efforts in North America as Vice President, Information Technology

    HOUSTON, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Liquide America Corporation has
 named Steve Bellis vice president of information technology for the U.S. and
 Canada, reporting directly to Pierre Dufour, president and CEO of Air Liquide
 America and chairman of Air Liquide Canada.  In his new capacity, Bellis will
 be a member of the Air Liquide America executive committee and he will work
 closely with the Air Liquide Group CIO and the worldwide IT group.
     Prior to joining Air Liquide America, Bellis worked for ten years at
 Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold in New Orleans, La., where he held positions of
 increasing responsibility throughout his tenure.  Most recently, Steve held
 the position of vice president and chief information officer.  Bellis'
 responsibilities included strategy development and management of the company's
 worldwide information systems, technology and telecommunications resources.
 Prior to 1991, Bellis worked in a consulting firm where he advised clients in
 the planning, design and implementation of management information systems.
     Bellis earned a bachelor of science and a master of business
 administration from Louisiana State University.
