Steve Johnson Elected to Keen Personal Media Board; Former AOL VP to Help Drive Keen PM's Vision and Strategy Development

    IRVINE, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Johnson has been elected to
 the board of directors of Keen Personal Media (Keen PM), a subsidiary of
 Western Digital (NYSE:   WDC) and provider of TV4me(R) Personal Video Recorder
 (PVR) solutions to cable operators.  Johnson is a founding partner and CEO of
 Sage Hill Partners, a Cambridge, Mass., venture capital firm which invests
 time, expertise and financing in early stage technology companies.  Johnson
 joins Keen PM board members Russ Krapf, CEO and president of Keen PM; Matt
 Massengill, CEO and president of Western Digital; and Tom Pardun, CEO of
 edge2net.
     Johnson was vice president of America Online's Software and Technology
 Development division until mid-1999.  His responsibilities at AOL included
 leading the development of AOL 4.0, "You've Got Pictures," and telephony and
 broadcast products, as well as overall management of media technology
 research, development, and acquisition.  He was a principal negotiator in
 AOL's 1998 acquisition of Netscape, and was the technology lead on the
 transition team of Netscape into AOL and in the formation of the Sun-AOL
 iPlanet strategic alliance.
     Johnson is also a limited partner of Boston-based Greylock Venture
 Capital.  He graduated from the University of Southern California with a
 Bachelor's degree in economics in 1980 and received a Masters degree in public
 policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1985.
