StorageTek's 9176 Disk Subsystem Receives Microsoft Certification; Tested to Surpass Industry Standards for Interoperability

Apr 02, 2001, 01:00 ET from StorageTek

    LOUISVILLE, Colo., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- StorageTek(R)
(Storage Technology Corp.) (NYSE: STK) has received Microsoft certification
for its 9176 Disk Subsystem. This certification allows full compatibility
with the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows NT and Windows 98 technology.
StorageTek earned Microsoft's elite certification with thorough,
independent product testing which permits StorageTek to now be a preferred
 solution for Microsoft customers.
"StorageTek has been committed to ensuring its products are interoperable
with Microsoft technology and its network protocols," said Michael McLay,
StorageTek vice president U.S./Canada Sales and Service. "We value our
relationship with Microsoft because it shows that StorageTek is dedicated to
meeting the needs of our customers who are faced with multiple challenges in
 their IT environments."
Designed and tested to surpass industry standards for interoperability,
the 9176 Disk Subsystem is a full-Fibre RAID disk subsystem supporting NT,
Windows 2000 and multiple operating systems. This high-performance subsystem
(up to 60,000 I/Os and 400 MB/sec) carries redundant components to eliminate
single points of failure, making it the most reliable in its class. Further,
controller-based LUN masking, centralized management and fabric login support
make the 9176 Disk Subsystem ideal for storage area networks.
StorageTek will display the "Designed for Microsoft Windows" logo on its
9176 Disk Subsystem to identify for customers the structure's reliability in
providing a consistent user experience with system hardware, firmware, driver
 and related software components.

     About the 9176 Disk Subsystem

Controller and up to 20 StorageTek 9170 Disk Subsystems for 14.4 terabytes of
