DENVER, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Lava lamps, tie dye and G.I. Joe's are not usually found at the check in desk of most hotels, but those memories and more are part of a one-of-a-kind celebration taking place this summer at select Sage Hospitality hotels across the country as the company celebrates the 40th anniversary of the "Summer of '69." From July 1 to September 30, 2009, Sage looks back with a variety of special offers including $69 room rates, $6.90 suite upgrades, $6.90 entrees, $.69 beers and $69 massages (all where applicable).

"I've heard it said that if you remember the 1960's you weren't there," said Walter Isenberg, president and CEO of Sage Hospitality. "I'm not sure about that, but we know that the 'Summer of '69' was an amazing time. Whether it's the funny fashions, man's first walk on the moon or the music and movies you remember, the summer of 1969 was a time of transformation in America and after 40 years, a time worth remembering."

The Summer of '69 offer is available at the following Sage hotels: Marriott Ogden, UT; Marriott, Pueblo, CO; Sheraton Phoenix Airport, Tempe, AZ; Marriott Charlotte Executive Park, NC; Hotel Baronette, Novi, MI; and the Sheraton Tucson, AZ.

Each hotel has developed a unique take on this fascinating window of time. Guests may enjoy a "munchie" menu in the restaurants (think Magic Mushroom Pizza, Twilight Twinkies, Peace Brownies with a peace stencil and Tie Dye Sherbet). Guest may find 60's vintage VW buses and VW bugs on display, 60's music playing and even a bit of incense on a few appropriate locations.

"You may have a flower child check you into your room or see a classic film like 'Easy Rider' or 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' as part of your in-room entertainment package," said Nanci Sherman, general manager at the Sheraton Tucson. "Each hotel has embraced the spirit of this celebration in their own way, and we encourage guests to contact the hotel the learn more about this fun opportunity."

Sage encourages anyone who remembers 1969 or those who might like to experience it for the first time to take advantage of this Summer of '69 offer for a family vacation or a family reunion, to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary, or any other special occasion.
