Experience to Leading SRM Solutions Provider

Apr 16, 2001, 01:00 ET from BlackHog Inc.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- BlackHog, Inc., developers of
the first Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) application for buyers and
suppliers in complex product manufacturing, today announced the addition of
Robert Evans to its board of directors. Evans is the managing partner at
The Valent Group, a venture capital firm specializing in forging partnerships
with entrepreneurial eBusiness infrastructure and application software
companies. He is also a special limited partner at both Accel Partners and
Bessemer Venture Partners, the leading venture firms that founded Valent.
Previously, Evans served as chief operating officer at i2 Technologies,
Inc., and earlier as president & COO at Aspect Development, Inc., which was
acquired by i2 Technologies in 2000. From 1993 through 1998, Evans was
managing partner of Andersen Consulting's (now Accenture's) Supply Chain
Practice in the Americas. Evans began his career at Caterpillar Inc. where he
founded and served as president of Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc., a
 supply chain services company.
"Bob is one of the best people in the world to help BlackHog get to the
next level of our development," said Jeff Donnelly, president and CEO of
BlackHog. "With his supply chain and software experience, Bob brings an added
dimension to our current board of directors. He has already begun work with
our management team to ensure we do the best job possible in executing our
business plan and delivering maximum value to our customers."
"Companies that manufacture complex, high-dollar products -- like
semiconductor equipment, large electrical power generators or off-road mining
trucks -- have different supply chain needs than e-procurement software or
private trading exchanges provide," Evans said. "These companies need to
collaborate with their many suppliers, coordinating production on a
component-by-component basis to meet customer delivery deadlines. BlackHog
has taken a truly innovative approach to addressing these needs that creates
substantial financial benefits for both manufacturers and their suppliers."
