operations of $35,769 during 2000, compared to a loss of $887,911 from
operations in 1999. Non-recurring charges to earnings include a settlement of
a lawsuit associated with the reverse merger of the Company in 1996, tax
penalties, and a reduction in the carrying value of land held for sale due to
a permanent impairment in value. The excluded non-cash charges to earnings
are depreciation and amortization, deferred compensation, a beneficial
conversion feature charge, and stock based compensation.
Adding all charges to earnings (including the charges mentioned above),
the net loss attributable to shareholders improved to $1,364,379 for
2000 compared to a $1,577,767 loss during 1999. The net loss from operations
(again including the non-cash items charged to earnings referenced above)
improved to $780,438 during the year 2000 compared to $1,313,841 in 1999.
"The year 2000 was an important transition year for the Company and we are
particularly excited about the record revenues and operational profit," said
 C. Scott Sykes, Jr., Chairman and President of SureQuest Systems, Inc. "We
have successfully integrated our U.S. and Canadian food distribution alliance
partners and are pleased with the continued revenue growth generated by these
strategic relationships. In addition, we have reduced operational expenses
and other general and administrative costs as we continue to focus on the
 bottom line."
Mr. Sykes added, "We are also excited about the future and the Company's
plans to give our clients improved access to our menu database system using
the Internet. To accomplish this goal, we continue to seek financing to
provide capital to pursue our strategic plan. In any event, we will continue
to build on our existing relationships and add new alliances. We are looking
forward to concluding several pending new alliances which we hope to announce
during this quarter. We believe that the momentum which SureQuest has created
during 2000 will not only continue, but increase, during 2001."
