Apr 26, 2001, 01:00 ET from T-NETIX, Inc.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- T-NETIX, Inc., (Nasdaq: TNTX),
a leading provider of specialized call processing and fraud control software
technologies, the nation's largest provider of corrections industry related
telecommunications services, and one of the country's largest purchasers of
Internet bandwidth, announces the grand opening of is state-of-the-art
National Service Center in Carrollton, Texas.
This new call center represents the consolidation of previously de-
centralized support centers into one centralized operation. T-NETIX has
invested in a 9,000 square foot modern facility with fully integrated state-
of-the-art technology for call queuing, ticketing and scheduling. The new
call center is designed to handle nationwide service and support for T-NETIX
1,600+ customer facilities and ultimately the 20,000+ calls from inmate's
 families that T-NETIX handles monthly.
Responding to the market demand for continuously improved Quality of
Service levels, T-NETIX has recently implemented new escalation procedures for
the NSC; is instilling accountability and measurement tools for all Service
Center employees; and has consolidated it's NSC technical support lines all to
a single toll-free number for ease of use. As a result of these efforts, call
wait times for technical support at the NSC have been reduced by a minimum of
62%. We expect this trend at the NSC to continue, and for more company-wide
improvements to follow as we focus on similar initiatives within our other
call center groups such as ABIS, our Automated Billing Inquiry Systems.
T-NETIX continues to focus on our vision to be a world-class technology
company, providing sophisticated and secure connections that meet our
customers' communication, networking and security needs today, tomorrow and in
the future. "We are very excited about the rollout of the new National
Service Center, and feel it is one more way T-NETIX is demonstrating its
commitment to achieve world-class customer service. T-NETIX will continue to
invest in cost saving methods and processes that will continue to delight
customers, contribute profitability for our company and increase shareholder
value," said Ken Stibler, Executive Vice President of Operations.
