Apr 04, 2001, 01:00 ET from Team Health

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Team Health announced today that
it has appointed Kim Martin vice president of insurance, risk management and
 compliance.
Team Health created this new position out of the need to increase its
emphasis on risk management. Previously the responsibilities for the
management of the insurance, claims and compliance were divided among several
individuals within the company. Martin will handle the consolidation of these
areas as well as risk management duties. She will report to Bob Joyner,
executive vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer.
Martin has 20 years of experience in healthcare, with the past 12 years
being in insurance, risk management and corporate compliance. Before joining
Team Health, she was employed at Charter Behavioral Health Systems/Magellan
Health Services in Atlanta, Georgia, for four years and most recently served
as senior vice president/chief administrative officer. Martin received a
bachelor of arts degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile,
Alabama. She also holds a law degree from Faulkner University in Montgomery,
 Alabama.
Lynn Massingale, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., president and CEO of Team Health,
commented on Martin's new appointment saying, "I am pleased to have someone
with Kim's expertise addressing these important issues."
In related news, Team Health has renewed its medical malpractice insurance
contract with the Farmers Insurance Company. For the last two years, Farmers
has insured the majority of physicians who work with Team Health. This new
contract solidifies the relationship with Farmers for the next two years.
Team Health is the nation's leading provider of hospital-based physician
services. Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, the group contracts with or
employs over 2,000 physicians to provide emergency department, radiology,
hospitalist, anesthesia, pediatric and critical care services to over 350
hospital and other healthcare facility clients in 30 states.
