LOS ANGELES, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Organizational Committee of the
Pacific Palisades Community of Faith -- comprised of 10 Pacific Palisades
religious institutions -- has announced its sponsorship of a week long event,
entitled a "Celebration of Our Shared Values," which will take place in
Pacific Palisades during the week of May 1-6.
The participating institutions include: The 37th Church of Christ,
Scientist, Calvary Church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Corpus
Christi Parish, Kehillat Israel Reconstructionist Congregation, Community
United Methodist Church, Palisades Lutheran Church, Pacific Palisades
Presbyterian Church, Self Realization Fellowship, Lake Shrine, and The Parish

"The Celebration of Values is a non-religious event meant to highlight the
need for value-based thinking and the choosing of appropriate values in our
community," said committee Chairman Neil Selman, an active member of the
Kehillat Israel Synagogue. "We believe this is the first time anywhere in the
United States that so many interfaith organizations have joined together for a
week devoted to a variety of in-depth activities in support of what we all
have in common -- our shared values."
The event activities will focus on "those values which form the core of
our shared ethics and beliefs," he continued. "These include courage, good
works, integrity, kindness, love, passion, and respect. During the week, the
Committee will be placing almost 3,000 signs with these value words in store
windows and residential areas in hopes to "raise awareness, interest and
questions about values throughout our community, and especially with our
 youth."
This Celebration of Our Shared Values is open to and free to people of all
faiths. All communities are welcome to share this celebration of unity,
