Apr 23, 2001, 01:00 ET from The Coca-Cola Company

ATLANTA, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- In an exclusive, one-time-only listing,
The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) is offering a limited run of 1,000 high
quality Norman Rockwell lithograph sets on eBay, the largest online trading
community. This marks the first time authentic Coca-Cola memorabilia has been
offered directly from The Coca-Cola Company for an online trading venue.
Bids will be accepted Friday, April 27, through Monday, May 7. During
this time, the artwork will be featured on eBay's collectibles category at
www.ebay.com . An item preview is available at:
 http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/coca-cola_auction/ .
Norman Rockwell, whose timeless illustrations often appeared on the front
cover of the Saturday Evening Post, created scenes for four Coca-Cola
calendars from the 1930s. For the first time, The Coca-Cola Company is
offering a set of fine art lithographs based on these original calendar
 pieces.
"This is a new way for us to present classic Coca-Cola memorabilia," said
Philip F. Mooney, archivist, The Coca-Cola Company. "Posting our collectibles
on eBay allows us to offer these limited-edition Norman Rockwell prints to
collectors, new and old, around the world."

The set of four unframed lithographs includes:

     * The 1931 calendar artwork, called "The Barefoot Boy" -- based on the
John Greenleaf Whittier poem by the same name -- features a boy
enjoying a Coke and a sandwich while his dog watches attentively. The
same artwork also appeared on a metal serving tray, a school tablet, a
window display piece, a blotter and an outdoor poster.

     * "The Old Oaken Bucket" from 1932 shows a young boy sitting on a well
with a wooden bucket full of bottles of Coca-Cola in his lap. The
artwork was based on the poem by Samuel Woodworth and the American folk
        song, "The Old Oaken Bucket."

     * The 1934 calendar captured a typically Southern scene in a work
entitled "Carry Me Back to Old Virginny," based on the song by James
Bland. An elderly gentleman and his lovely daughter, attired in
antebellum clothing, enjoy Coca-Cola while relaxing on their front
        porch.

     * In 1935, Rockwell produced his most remembered Coca-Cola piece when he
drew a farm boy, perched atop a tree stump, fishing lazily while his
faithful dog and a refreshing Coca-Cola passed the time with him.
Nearly 2 million calendars -- featuring this work based on the Edgar
Guest poem "Out Fishin'" -- were distributed to Coca-Cola bottlers, and
thousands of window displays decorated soda fountains throughout the
        United States.

Printed with high-quality premium inks to ensure longevity, each print is
a faithful reproduction of the Rockwell originals. An eight-color process
allows the color saturation to match the vibrant pigments of the original oil
paintings. Each vertical print measures 28 by 19 inches and will be hand-
numbered. Every set of prints will be hand-inspected and hand-packaged.
Proceeds will benefit The Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, a partnership
between the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and The Community Foundation for
Greater Atlanta. The Arts Fund helps small and mid-sized non-profit arts
organizations in the region strengthen their long-term capacity for financial
and organizational well being. The MAAF was established in 1992, and The
Coca-Cola Company was one of the first companies to provide support.
